about

CJSR's bicycle traffic reporter Karly Coleman joined me, Peter Chapman, for Bike Bits on this last Thursday of the month. We discussed how technology is leading to an increase in a new nomadic lifestyle, coined neo-nomadic, we discuss how the bike, and the technologies that surround it, factor into our ability to work, rest and play in changing environments. We also discuss the rise in peri-urban living, not quite urban, and with some of the romanticised elements of rural living, peri-urbanites live beyond the suburbs, where technology enable them to do urban jobs in near-rural settings - the bike, of course, is an enabler. But how does a peri-urbanite's use of the bike contrast to an urbanite's?
