about

MP-elect for Edmonton Centre, Mr. Randy Boissonnault joined CJSR this morning to talk about election night, the work that is ahead of him, his past as an advocate for literacy, and the priorities for Edmonton Centre.

"It's about building up our city. We're going to see the West-leg of the LRT built on our watch, we're going to see Yellowhead get a proper upgrade, the exchanges at 50 and 75 Street are going to get upgraded, and we're going to see social housing, affordable housing, seniors housing because we need it," Boissonnault said. "The money is going to start flowing in budget 2016/17."

"You cannot grow the economy by cutting it," he says, talking about the Liberal plan to run deficits.

On working with other parties, Boissonnault commits to working with all MPs, saying "we have to work with our colleagues here to make sure Edmonton is well represented." Adding, "You will see a return to parliamentary debates on our watch."

Boissonnault, when asked about his chances of being in cabinet, said, "There is so much work to do here at the constituency level, that I'm thrilled to be and honoured to be Member of Parliament elect for Edmonton Centre, so I'm very focused on getting things right on the constituency level."
