The Art Mentorship Society of Alberta is hosting their fourth annual fundraiser tomorrow (Friday Nov 16) night at the ATB Arts & Culture Branch (CKUA building/9804 Jasper Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 0C5). Executive Director Robyn O'Brien joined Peter Chapman to talk about what the organisation does, how art empowers people, and how thinking about the holistic soul helps keep us afloat, especially when art is concerned.
The event features a panel discussion featuring mental health advocates, including Councillor Scott McKeen, photographer Blake Loates and AHS personnel Michelle Knox. There will also be music from outlaw Canadian country band The Coal Mine Canaries and singer-songwriter Jay Gilday.
Tickets can be bought on the door from 5:30pm for $50, or in advance from:
www.artmentorshipab.com. If you just want to hear the music, show up after 7:30pm and pay just $15.
